The Diocesan Museum of Lleida is located in a central, vital area of the city between the crossing of the old city and the new extension of the Rambla de Aragón. The new building is a response to the merging of modern and old contrasts. Architecturally, the building is based on multiple volumes joined by a common platform, where the Carmelitas convent was previously located.
The project has combined the requirements of a contemporary building as a museum with a strong historic character and has kept all the old parts such as the façade on Calle Lluis Besa y Sant Crist.
