The Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM) is moving to LASEDE, a new building that is part of a complex spanning 20,000 square meters located between the neighborhoods of Chueca, Chamberí, and Malasaña in Madrid. This architectural project is the result of a collaboration agreement between the City Council of Madrid and COAM, and it is framed within the Special Rehabilitation Plan for the city center of Madrid promoted by the City Council. The project started in 2005 under the direction of architect Gonzalo Moure with the aim of transforming it into an area of opportunity, improving the neighborhood's conditions and providing it with new public facilities.
LASEDE is a building designed by More Architects that coexists with the renovated and modernized building of the Escuelas Pías de San Antón, as well as municipal facilities and multidisciplinary public spaces that converge through a central public garden. ARLEX is involved in the equipment of the project by partitioning the interiors and distributing the 2nd floor designed by architect Luis Renedo: conference rooms, meeting rooms, auditorium, historical archive, and library.
